I am a painter, living in Aberdeen. I have recently graduated from Gray’s School of art, The Robert Gordon University.

My paintings sit between reality and dream-like imagery. I have been interested in the idea of abandonment and how it affects the space. I explore the way the use of paint, brush stroke, direction, force and thickness changes the perception, mood and meaning of the paintings. Deconstruction and reconstruction of forms and shapes is an important part of my practice. For me the whole matter of painting becomes about the process and about my inner sense involved in evaluating the progress of the piece. I often become obsessive with the painterly techniques that I am using. Some of the spaces change as the painting progresses and this signifies the element of being alive.
